home clients empathic ear about us contact version française new offerings from germinal knowledge !! new : training in conflict management in the workplace for the non-professional mediator ("catalyst") as professional mediators, we at germinal knowledge have realized that, for interpersonal conflicts, the process of conflict mediation is actually responsible for resolving a large percentage of conflicts. what does this mean? well, basically it means that anyone can learn to put the process in place and help others resolve their conflicts without special training as a mediator. sounds interesting, but still not clear how it works! ok, here is how it works: the conflict mediation process, the world over, looks like this: meeting with the contact person from the organisation to try to identify the problem. meeting with each of the disputants to try to identify the problem (yes, it's hard to pin down), hear their side of the story and explain the process. three person meeting with the two disputants and the mediator (or "catalyst" in case of the third party being one of our non-professional trainees) during this three-person-meeting, the disputants actually solve their problem with the help of the mediator (the mediator is specially trained in interventions). if the third person is a "catalyst" and there is no successful resolution of the conflict, the catalyst calls in a professional mediator. now, in our new training, you learn how to play the role of the catalyst. if you become a catalyst, practice and enjoy helping others resolve their conflicts, and want to become a professional mediator, and more, then read on: new : mediator certification many mediator certification are primarily theoretical. the trainees hear the speaker tell about how to resolve conflict, but there is no practical, supervised experience. germinal offers a mediator certification including: forty hours of classroom training including: the theory of conflict and conflict resolution case studies roleplaying exercises personal supervision of you as a mediator follow up coaching of you in your first missions the artisan of peace: the advanced certification the artisan of peace is an advanced mediation and human development consultant qualification. there are four steps in the qualification: human development consultant the candidate must have a certificate in some methodology of human development, including experience in psychometric instruments. by "methodology of human development" we mean one or more of the following: a recognized certification as coach (personal or professional), a diploma or degree in counseling, psychology, or psychotherapy, a certification as a trainer in human development. this type of qualification is often in using one of several commercial or professional psychometric instruments. examples of "psychometric instrument" are: myers-briggs type indicator (mbti), the strength deployment inventory, disc, firo, etc., ie the commercial instruments, or mmpi, neo, ... a university course in psychometrics, education testing and measurement, etc. is also welcomed. another new offering at germinal is our values explorer (valexp) , a psychometric instrument to explore your self-defining values - the ones you would fight for. contact us for more information about valexp. mediator a pre-requisite for being admitted into our programme is to be certified as a mediator in your home country. check in your country to see what the requirements are. if you only need a 40 hour course in mediation skills, then our programme will be sufficient to qualify you in your country (the us, for example). please check the requirements carefully. germinal knowledge does not accept responsibility for acceptance in your country. in our qualification, you will go beyond your basic mediator qualification to obtain certification in "mediation of conflict in the workplace" and further training in other special applications (family conflict, inheritance conflict,...) level i "artisan of peace" certification this two day qualification includes a survey of psychometrics, validity and reliability, of models of the human personality and the instruments used to measure them. a significant component is a review of the theory of conflict, anger management and conflict resolution. the subjective nature of self-reporting personality instruments will be thoroughly discussed. level ii "artisan of peace" certification this three day qualification is a survey of various schools/theories of psychology including pathology and some principles of treating personality disorders. our objective is not to train the participants to practice psychology or psychotherapy, but to use some of the techniques and information of the psychologist to recognize and deal with difficult cases in the workplace. emphasis will be on the most difficult type of client that the artison of peace candidate may encounter in the practice of our role as human development consultants. ©2017 germinal knowledge. tous droits réservés. the values explorer an important instrument for the artisan of peace.
